Alabaster is a fine‑grained, semi‑transparent natural material that has been valued for centuries for its excellent workability and its elegant, translucent appearance. Sawing, filing, grinding and carving allow unique forms to emerge which, once polished, reveal a beautifully silky surface. Alabaster is particularly well suited to sculptures, reliefs, bowls, candlesticks and jewellery.
